ToSTY (Grades 9-12)

The Youth Committee is excited to start a new school year. We have installed an enthusiastic board, which is anxious to get underway with a full calendar of events. This year’s president is Joe Malinger, and we wish him every success in his new leadership role.

This year we have a lifetime member of Temple Shalom, Michael Zimmerman, as ToSTY Advisor. Michael may be contacted at Mjzglobal@gmail.com. He will mentor the senior youth group, grades 9-12. All Jewish teens are welcome to join.

About The Advisor…

Michael has his B.A. in International Studies from Elon University.  He has studied in Buenos Aires and Tel Aviv with a thesis focus on Jewish World Migration and Economics.  He currently works with JNF, Jewish National Fund, a United Nations NGO that does incredible work for the land and people of Israel. Michael was an active member of ToSTY while in High School.  He started as Membership VP, climbed to Programming VP, and worked his way to Presidency by his Junior year of High School. He was an active member in NFTY-GER and is an Urban Mitzvah Corps alumni at the New Brunswick location.  ToSTY holds a special place in his heart and he has dedicated his time to guiding the vibrant youth group to another year of new programs, community service, and promoting friendships and camaraderie among the teens.  Please don’t hesitate to say “hi” and introduce yourself to him or send him some feedback/ideas for future ToSTY.
